Bay-Tique just might be the most unique beach "ware" store on the entire Gulf Coast - because at least half of its clothing, jewelry and souvenirs are Made in Mississippi.
That means you'll find fun work by local artists and designers - things you can't get anywhere else. And you'll be helping support some of the local artists and designers that make our community one of the Coolest in the South!
Bay-Tique owner Jane Alford describes her shop as “a fun little beach shop” that sells stylish yet affordable Bay attire and gifts. Jane says that, to her, the style of Bay-Tique represents the personality of Bay St. Louis that she fell in love with when she moved here 15 years ago, a laid-back, funky, artsy, seaside community.
Located at 203 B North Second Street in the heart of Old Town, Bay-Tique has something for everyone, including an assortment of clothing for men and women , as well as souvenirs, gifts and beach supplies. Shoppers also will find clothing, accessories, jewelry and artwork created locally.
“All of the artists represented in the store are local to Hancock county” Alford says.
The T-shirts and souvenirs found in the shop are specifically chosen and designed to promote Bay St. Louis, Hancock County and Mississippi. Alford has set a goal: she plans to devote 50% of her purchasing to local vendors and designers. At the same time, she recognizes that a local store that carries larger name brands such as Billabong, Quiksilver, Roxy and Sanuk is a plus for Bay St. Louis.
Alford, who also owns The Carroll House Bed & Breakfast says that she came up with the idea of Bay-Tique by listening to comments from her guests about what they would like to see here in Bay St. Louis when they come to visit. The new shop’s motto is “Bay ware for all seasons.” So be sure to check them out in the fall and holiday season for casual fall clothing and seasonal gift items.
Hours are from 10 - 5 Monday through Saturday and 12 - 3pm on Sunday. Stop in and catch a wave of the Bay!
