Michele Tierney, a former career banker turned entrepreneur, is the proud owner of Dragonfly In The Bay (211 Main Street), a boutique and cafe that reflects her lifelong passion for food. Growing up in Bay St. Louis and New Orleans, surrounded by rich cultural influences, Michele developed a love for cooking and sharing her savory creations.
Dragonfly's name symbolizes change and transformation, which perfectly reflects Michele’s journey. Her love for Bay St. Louis is rooted in its tight-knit community and small-town charm, providing the perfect backdrop for her new venture. And when the opportunity presented itself to open Dragonfly in the Bay, Michele jumped at the chance. Visitors to her boutique and cafe can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere, with Michele always on hand to chat and share her culinary expertise. When visiting Dragonfly in the Bay, you’ll find their menu offers a variety of delicious and healthy options. Savor the taste of their healthy Mediterranean bowls, poke bowls, flatbreads, and salads. Try their delectable shrimp tacos, classic cheeseburgers, juicy Cali turkey burgers, or chicken salad on a flaky croissant. And for those with a craving for comfort food, they also offer loaded mac & cheese and other scrumptious options. In celebration of its Hotspot status, Dragonfly in the Bay will be serving up specials all day on Second Saturday such as Filet Minon Fajita Tacos for $14.95, Mini Poke Bowls for $10, and mimosas. They will also have Brain Murphy DJing from 3 pm - 5 pm. Regular operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 2:30 pm but Dragonfly on the Bay will be open 11 am to 6 pm this Second Saturday, February 11th. Connie Bourgeois is a hair stylist with 40 years of experience in the beauty industry. In September 2022, she realized her dream of owning her own salon by opening Second Street Salon & Boutique at 106 S Second Street.
The salon is a private studio space where Connie specializes in all hair services for her loyal clientele. In addition to hair services, Second Street Salon & Boutique also features a range of retail items for customers to browse and purchase, including hair care products from Davines, made in Italy, Freyrs sunglasses, candles from Brooklyn Candle Co., a variety of jewelry including Eveille Jewelry from New Orleans and much more. Connie was drawn to the building on Second Street because of her love for its unique character and charm. When the opportunity arose to take over the space, she didn't hesitate to seize it and make it her own. The salon is open Wednesday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. Connie's passion and expertise in hair, along with the unique retail offerings, make Second Street Salon & Boutique a one-of-a-kind destination for beauty and personal style.
