Second Saturday Artwalk Hot Spots - January 2022: Bijoubel, Baytique, and Shannon Mullen Art/Katie's Jewelry & Gifts

During the Second Saturday Art Walk each month in Old Town Bay St. Louis, you'll find cool deals, fresh meals and lots of art and live music!

Over the past 29 years, the monthly art walk has become one of the most popular events in the region. Old Town stays lively all day, with many merchants and restaurants offering specials. 

​The pace picks up from 4–7 pm, when gallery openings and live music keep the streets humming with activity. ​

If you’re looking for beautiful custom artwork and jewelry, look no further than Shannon Mullen Art and Katie’s Jewelry & Gifts located on the 3rd floor of historic Century Hall. When you walk into Shannon and Katie’s booth, you’ll find yourself surrounded by the perfect accessories for both your home and person. 

Shannon and Katie both strive to have something special for everyone that visits their booth. And even if you are unable to find that perfect piece you were looking for, have no worry! Both artists offer custom orders. From children’s jewelry to intricate adult pieces, Katie offers custom orders for every occasion, size, and age. From personalized painting of pets, custom Shuckies (hand painted oyster shells), and even Mardi Gras scenes that can be personalized with your family, friends, favorite floats or marching groups, Shannon offers one of a kind paintings just for you. 

This Second Saturday, Shannon Mullen Art and Katie’s Jewelry & Gifts will be celebrating with a festive Mardi Gras theme. The duo will be presenting new Mardi Gras paintings, jewelry, an unveiling of a brand new line of merchandise featuring a collaboration of the two artists, live music, refreshments, and even print & jewelry giveaways. 

Live music will be performing on the porch of The Shops of Century Hall from 4pm - 7pm and the giveaway drawings will be at 6:30pm. With any purchase on January 8th from Shannon Mullen Art and Katie’s Jewelry & Gifts, customers will earn an entry for both Shannon Mullen Art- Crowned Pelican paper print and Katie’s custom mardi gras jewelry giveaways.

Bijoubel

Located in the heart of Old Town Bay St. Louis, Bijoubel is stocked with a wonderful variety of jewelry, clothing, gifts, and much more. Owner, Melissa Hamilton, opened Bijoubel 9 years ago stating “when i opened the business years ago, it was all about jewelry and having a good selection of jewelry for people in town. Since then it has developed into clothing.” 

When you enter Bijoubel you’ll be happy to find that sparkly selection of jewelry that inspired Melissa to open her business, including Ronaldo and Mariana jewelry, but you’ll also be happily surprised by Bijoubel’s expansion of other great finds. From trendy clothing and accessories to gift items such as kitchen towels and the popular Tyler candles, Bijoubel is definitely a store shoppers won’t want to miss. 

This Second Saturday, Bijoubel will be providing live music and serving food and refreshments from 4pm to 7pm. Be sure to stop by Bijoubel and experience everything this chic Old Town shop has to offer.

Baytique

When you walk into Baytique, you’ll find their motto “slightly edgy, always fun” to be true with their wide variety of fashionable selections. Opening in 2012, Baytique has provided Old Town Bay St. Louis with stylish women's clothing and accessory options, including lines from Umgee, Blowfish, and Myra Bags for the past 10 years. 

“I try to get things that are different from what you’re going to find in the department stores, items that are a little bit edgy but not crazy edgy,” Jane Kulpeska, owner of Baytique, explained. Jane also stated “Baytique’s customers range from anywhere in their twenties to their sixties”, truly making a great stop for all fashion seekers. 

This Second Saturday Baytique will be hosting live music by Wes Sanderford and serving refreshments from 4pm to 7pm. If you're looking for fashionable clothing, stylish accessories, or statement jewelry, be sure to stop by Baytique to find your next stylish look.
